It’s that time of year again, fresher’s week and clubs and societies day. This year Student Enterprise was once again out in force informing students of their services and hosting a competition to get students thinking creatively. This year the competition called ‘Creative Cards’ involved students picking two random picture cards which were facing down and using these two pictures collectively to come up with a new product or service. This concept drew a huge amount of attention to the Student Enterprise stand and showed students how easy it can be to come up with a new potential business idea. Ideas were wide and varied, clever, innovative and original, and after long deliberation among the Student Enterprise team a winner was selected. Stephen McDowell a computer science student was successful in his entry and received a prize of two tickets to this year’s fresher’s ball. Stephen randomly selected a picture of a Smartphone and a picture of a PlayStation 3 to come up with a potential business idea. His idea was a Smartphone app that allowed a Smartphone to be used as a remote control when using the PlayStation 3.

Student Enterprise would like to thank everybody who took part in the competition and hope for their continued support throughout the year. To keep up to date with Student Enterprise activities you can find us on All current students of DkIT who like our page will be entered into a competition to win a DkIT Student Union goodie bag.
