Career Planning Workshop

The Access Service in partnership with the Careers Service is delighted to offer a lunchtime "Career Planning Workshop" specifically catered towards the mature learner i.e. for those who were mature students upon their first year of entry to DkIT and who are now in their final year of study.

Aim of the workshop:

Through a process of "Self Assessment" this workshop aims to assist the mature student in identifying their bank of "Transferable Skills" which will assist them in progressing their career.

The learner will be aware of:

  • How to place a value on the skills, talents and abilities that they hold already.
  • How to link your past to your current studies
  • How to market the qualities of a mature graduate to a potential employer

Requirements:

Please leave a copy of your most recent CV in an envelope in the Student Services Centre Reception marked "Access Office", attaching a cover note giving details of your student number, current programme and yearof study. Participants will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis.

Please Note:

This is an interactive workshop and you will be expected to share and discuss your employment / learning experiences to date in a group format.
