"Surface Tension: The Future of Water" and the 'Water Wear' exhibit to feature at the World Science Exhibition in New York.

Water Wear was a recent exhibit in the extremely popular Surface Tension: The Future of Water exhibition at the Science Gallery, TCD which ran for 11 weeks in October 2011. The exhibition has now been invited to participate at the prestigious World Science Festival in New York in May 2012. Water Wear was produced as a result of the work that Mr Kimmit Sayers, DkIT in cooperation with Dr Brian Corcoran, DCU are researching on hand-pump piston seals in Uganda as part of the multi-disciplinary Water Is Life: Amazzi Bulamu project. This DkIT-led project aims to support sustainable water resource management as a catalyst for sustainable economic and social development in the Makondo area of rural Uganda through a combination of PhD research and community engagement. The project is a collaborative partnership between Irish Higher Institutes and Makerere University in Kampala and a number of NGOs.
