Students enjoy robotics demonstration

Tuesday, 27 March saw the return of former lecturer Liam O'Gogain to the School of Engineering together with his colleague Damian. They made a presentation and demonstration to very enthusiastic students and staff on robots and quadricopters. This involved aspects of control and communications familiar to electronic engineering activists together with structures and mechanical design of interest to mechanical engineers. Embedded systems and multimedia drew the attention of games specialists. The discussion and audience interaction ranged over educational approaches with interest in the multidisciplinary specialism's inherent in the robots. The audience withdrew to the car park for an impressive demonstration of the possibilities with the robots under remote control.
