2nd year Video & Film student short-listed in the 'Castaway' Titanic Belfast competition at the Cinemagic International Film Festival

The Pride of the Seas, a short film by Joske Slabbers (2nd year Video & Film student) along with Gary Boyd, has been short listed for the 'Castaway' Titanic Belfast competition, which is part of the Cinemagic International Film & Television Festival for young people.

All of the shortlisted films (10) will be screened at a special showcase at Titanic Belfast on Thursday 29th March (2pm - 4pm), where the winning film will be announced. Cinemagic patron, Oscar-winning Screenwriter and Downton Abbey creator, Julian Fellowes who has lent his support to the competition will be in Belfast to attend the showcase and take part in a Q & A.

A synopsis of The Pride of the Seas runs as thus;
"A young boy takes us on an imaginary sea journey fueled by his Grandfathers tales of the past. Cormac's favourite way to spend an
afternoon is playing on an old boat that his grandfather is doing up. With Grandfathers old captains hat Cormac takes charge of the boat and makes it seaworthy once more... if only in his imagination".
