Smarter Travel: Your chance to win a bike worth €150!

In January, 2011 Dundalk Institute of Technology signed up as a Partner of Smarter Travel Workplaces. This programme is managed by the National Transport Authority and assists large employers (with over 250 employees) in managing their commuting and business travel in a more sustainable and cost effective manner. The programme promotes walking, cycling, public transport, car-sharing and trip reduction as part of a Workplace Travel Plan.

In February of last year, a survey was undertaken to gather information on daily travel patterns and thoughts on the alternative modes of transport for DkIT staff and students. The survey provided a great insight into the transport situation in DkIT and highlighted gaps in our transport system that needed to be filled. The results of this survey can be viewed here and here.

We now need to conduct this survey once again so that we can see what progress has been made in the past year. The survey is open to both staff and students and it only takes about 10 minutes to complete. You can complete the survey by clicking here. The higher the response rate the more tailored any new travel measures will be, so the support of staff and students is vital in completing the survey. From the survey analysis an action plan will be drawn up along with revealing attitudes and potential for change on campus.

Everybody who completes this survey will be entered into a draw to win a bike worth €150, so if you want to be in with a chance of winning this great prize don't forget to fill in your email address at the end of the survey!
