DKIT forge links in Finland

A MEMORANDUM of Agreement was signed by Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT) and Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) at a ceremony in Pori, Finland which was attended by leaders from both higher education institutions.

The agreement commits both parties to greater collaboration in the areas of programme development, joint research initiatives and enterprise and innovation supports.

Both Dundalk Institute of Technology and Satakunta University of Applied Sciences have a strong track record of cooperation and the relationship has been developed under the Erasmus programme for over fifteen years.

In this time there have been over 100 staff and students in exchange programmes.

'I have been an admirer of the Finnish education system for some time and the collaboration we have enjoyed with SAMK has been very beneficial to us.

' With this agreement we are now ready to develop our relationship to a higher level and in future we plan to work together on new programme development and share our research expertise.

'I know this will be very worthwhile to Dundalk Institute of Technology,' stated DKIT President Denis Cummins.
