DkIT Cross Border Tournament 2011

The 7th December 2011 saw Dundalk Institute of Technology Archery Club host its first ever Cross Border Archery Tournament. Archery is a sport which has grown in interest within Dundalk Institute of Technology and in Ireland in recent years.

The opportunity of hosting a Cross Border Tournament was one that could not be missed. The University of Ulster and Queens University Belfast participated on the day alongside Dundalk Institute of Technology Archery Club members.

To commemorate the Tournament there was a presentation of Trophies to Queens University Belfast and University of Ulster for participating on the day.

We also had members of the Ireland and Northern Ireland International Team attending and participating on the day.

The event also helped to promote the college to other colleges north of the border and to allow relations to be formed and to grown.

The day proved to be a great success with all members participating and enjoying the day. It is hoped that the Cross Border Tournament may become an annual event with the aim to broaden the number of colleges and universities both north and south of the border participating.
